Every person’s brain experiences the world in a unique and different way. The growing awareness of neurodiversity has also led to a heightened awareness of self-regulation and of the impacts of different sensory and attention systems on mind, body and emotions.
The Alexander Technique meets you where you are, how you are. It offers an opportunity to develop greater awareness of yourself and how you interact with the world around you. An AT lesson is a safe space in which to explore what supports you and what gets in the way – which strategies are useful, and which you can discard.
Alexander Technique is always non-invasive, affirming and gentle whether or not you choose to work with touch. It works through our many sensory systems – both internal and external. You learn tools that you can take away with you to help day-to-day with regulation, relationships and maintaining a sense of agency in your life.
We all need to become more of ourselves and that is especially true if you are neurodivergent. You might use AT to develop more self-understanding, more freedom, and a greater capacity to be yourself in a complex world.
